The laboratory is equipped with AC and DC working models of traction electric engines of electric rolling stock (ERS), which are currently in operation on our country’s railway network. Here we present the main types of switching (contactors, switches) and protective (fast and main switches, protective relays) power electrical equipment, current collector, control devices.
Besides studying the design of the electric part of electric locomotives and electric trains, the laboratory benches allow students to learn about the processes occurring in electric circuits in case of emergency modes of operation, ways of protection from the electric arc, to study the work of electric apparatus drives.
