Graduates of the specialty work in the locomotive enterprises, at electric locomotive building and repair plants, in subways, design, research, educational and other organizations. Bachelors and masters generally work in the same companies as specialists.

The total number of graduates in the electric traction specialty at OSTU currently adds up to more than four thousand people. Most of the graduates work in railway transport.

Many graduates have achieved significant success in industrial, social and scientific endeavors.

Many graduates have worked and are currently working in managerial and engineering positions in the Ministry of Transport, JSC Russian Railways, central and regional directorates, locomotive depots, at electric locomotive repair and electric locomotive factories, in design organizations and research institutes. A certain part of the graduates also work in other sectors of the national economy. But wherever graduates work, they always remember their alma mater and maintain close ties with the department.
