The laboratory is equipped with facilities that allow studying individual elements, units and automated and microprocessor-based control systems for electric locomotives and electric trains in general. The devices studied here can use both direct and alternating current, can be with collector and non-collector traction motors.
The devices make it possible to study characteristics of automation elements and also analogue and digital automated control systems of electric rolling stock with stepped and smooth voltage regulation of traction motors. This, in turn, allows us to realize optimal parameters of motion in traction and electric braking modes.
