Abstract
The original reading, or even the design of problems, questions and categories of existential philosophy in the history of Russian thought occupies a special position. Russian existentialism, on the one hand, has a rich semantic structure, a religious basis and a claim to the godlike personality, on the other hand, Russian philosophy has original foundations categorically irreducible with the foundations of existentialism of Western European origin in the form of value, uniqueness and semantic content of the concept of personality; in the form of evaluation of other people, empathy and complicity in other people's destinies. The analysis of the existentialism of two prominent representatives of the trend shows the features and their significance in the legacy of both domestic and existential thought as a direction of the twentieth century.
